What is agentic commerce?
Agentic commerce is when an AI agent shops on a person's behalf. It searches, compares and prepares a purchase, and the person approves it. ShelfAI makes your store something those agents can read and buy from.
How is this different from Shopify's own AI channels?
Shopify and the AI platforms are each building their own agent channels. ShelfAI works across all of them from one install, and adds what they don't: a firewall that verifies agents and stops scrapers, per-agent rules, multi-item carts and a log of every agent action. If you already use Shopify's channels, ShelfAI works alongside them.
Does ShelfAI work with ChatGPT and Claude?
ShelfAI publishes your store in open formats that any agent can read, including ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and custom shopping bots. As new agent standards launch, we add them for you.
Will it slow down or change my store?
No. ShelfAI doesn't touch your theme, your storefront or your SEO. Agents use a separate, lightweight channel, so human shoppers see exactly what they see today.
Can an agent place an order without the shopper knowing?
No. Agents prepare the cart. The shopper approves and pays in your normal checkout. Agents never see card details.
Who owns the customer and the order data?
You do. Orders go through your own checkout, so the customer, their email and the margin stay in your store, the same as any other order.
